    Do scent killers work?

I've read about some tests done with drug sniffing dogs that proved scent killing soaps and sprays don't work. I've always used them and probably still will out of habit. Just wondering what you guys think? I figure it can't hurt and at best it might buy few seconds. I think no matter what you do if the wind is wrong you're gonna get busted.

I would use them religiously for several years and often wondered why I kept getting busted.
I quit buying the stuff and ain't getting busted any more now than I was then.
Hard earned money in the toilet if YA ask me

Agree with Flywise... If they offer an advantage, I have yet to find it

Cover scents seem more logical than a scent killer. In my opinion

I use everything from detergent to spray and have had great results.

If you hunt where there is cedar, walk around the cedar tree and brush yourself. I also break cedar limbs and put in my ground blind. Never busted and never fails.

I wash my clothing with the special wash, then store in a carbon bag with cedar tree leaves. Then spray either fox or coon urine on the upwind side of my blind or nearest tree. Also spray it on the souls of boots. But which ever I use it can't be the synthetic

Do they work?? Who knows. All I can say is many animals have been killed before that stuff came out.

I use them BC I bought them for pennies on the dollar.
I think they help but do not elemenate scent.

They may help a little but in October your going to sweat in Texas. Nothing will stop that. Maybe ozonics but I aint lugging it around. Ive killed plenty without any scent control except the wind. Sometimes you get busted, sometimes you dont.

I use it, not religiously, but pretty often. But early bow season, it sure makes good stuff to have so you can spray down to get cool in a popup blind!

I think they're worth it on your boots and pants getting to and maintaining your stand and feeder. They are not going to prevent a downwind buck from smelling you.

IMO they just wet you down and put a film on you that causes dead cells to stay on you versus flying with the wind. I've tried with and without scent killer sprays many times and IMO they do help. But you will still get busted if they get right downwind of you.

Wood smoke best cover scent there is .
This is my take on it.
A deers nose is like a smoke director . You ain't goin to jam it or be scent free enough so he WONT smell you . The best you can do is reduced you scent and cover it up with some other scent enough to fool his nose to thinking you are far enough away to not be a threat .
If using scent killer helps you mentally then use it , its not goin to hurt anything .
