Whether or not they can afford stuff or not they need supplies that our budgets can't handle. I don't have an answer. It's just not an easy fix. I do know that a kid doesn't get to choose his folks...

I have a good starting point...
Let's redistribute birth control to those that can't afford to pay for what their children need. How does 65% of an area get that bad ?

How about we start a war on poverty instead of the war on drugs. Let's fine people that are poor, lazy, system parasites starting at say $500.00 for first offense or jail time.

Maybe they could perform tasks on a state level to help pay for what the school or other parents provide for their kids. Maybe they could mow the grass at the schools or pick up trash etc,,,

I blew up a few days ago on Facebook about this same topic. I have 4 kids and got them what they needed to find they pulled this wealth redistribution crap. So we spend the next few weeks calling and complaining everyday.

We are on a fast train to somewhere we don't want to end up.

I know someone who works at a school. They get upset when the students are getting free lunch and breakfast and are talking on an iPhone in the lunch line.

Love kids although don't have any of my own. I donate money every year as I have an uncle that purchases school supplies and distributes them to kids that for whatever reason are not provided with school supplies. My uncle has been doing this for years on his own and is not part of any organization. He seeks out kids he knows are not financial able to buy supplies and lands a helping hand.

Having said this and of course if I had kids, I would not be agreeable to the practice of the teacher redistributing the kid's school supplies. As several have mentioned, I would be willing to help but I really don't believe in socialized type redistribution of anything. Again as someone has already mentioned, what is next? Groceries, clothing, gas, should we all just throw are money into one big pile and allow the the government to give us "our fair share"? Oh Quack, they are already trying to do that

We should do beer at the lease like the teachers do the school supplies.
That way the tight wads would have a chance to drink a premium beer on occasion

              Ooooooo--dripping sarcasm--but true.

I think that rich guy that is hunting Africa right now should come home and let me take his place because I can't afford to go.......

Is a response to a request no one has asked in the history of ever.

IMO it is more than simple redistribution of wealth. It is indoctrination at a young age that fairness is the right thing to do so when they become adults it has become ingrained in the psyche of the gen pop. Better things to worry about? I would be very concerned. Tin foil hat pulled tightly down. I won't be here but my kids and grandkids will be.

It's not a new idea. My teachers did it 20 years ago. First year it happened was unexpected. My mom got me Dallas cowboys pencils, folders, and binders. I ended up with off brand stuff after the redistribution. Every year after that we bought off brand.

"equality" brings everyone down, not up.

The other night she had over $200 in the cart at walmart made up of pencils, markers, crayons, folders, binders and snacks/stickers. I asked her "don't these kids have parents?" Last year we drove 200 miles to get journals for her students. None of the walmarts had enough of the same one so we picked up 5 here and 6 there and so on until we had enough so everyone had the same design on the outside. I don't like the community idea either but I hate to see kids go without.

I really don't know how to take this. I can go both ways with what you said.

Truthfully, anybody that knows me understands that I will help anyone and I believe TBH can bare witness to that. My issue is I should have the right to choose when and who I choose to help and not be told nor hoodwinked into doing it.

My wife & I bought for our Grandkids, we always do or they aren't able to be involved in a lot of things. We bought supplies this year and gave each one enough to get started with and kept the rest at my house. I told them when they begin to run low on something let me know and we'll fill it back up. I also told them if they're teachers don't like my plan they (my Grandkids) were to politely give the teacher my cell phone number and have them call me. I would be more than happy to discuss it with them
