Who Else HATES This Time of Year?!?!

I loathe it! I hate having to talk myself into going out to the lease to fill feeders and check cards. I'm game all day even into the upper 80's. Even shooting out in the backyard stinks in the heat. Been a mild summer though. Hopefully August doesn't just bake us.

I'm fair complected, blue eyed, with some red and blonde in my hair/beard. I pretty sure my ancestors hailed from some cave in Scandinavia. It's just not the time of year I shine. Gimme me low pressure, a low hanging blanket of clouds and temperatures that require layered clothing. I'd prefer no sun 4 days of the week. Maybe I need to relocate to the Pacific NW.

My skin is the same way & seems to get worse as the years pass...hate having to keep the sun off of me completely but it's must. I burn in seconds.

We've had index into the 100's consistently and Aug & Sept are hotter...never cools off till November down this way & I wanna move outta the valley when this time of year rolls around.

My next vehicle will have air conditioned seats!!

Went to lease to fill feeders and get some offseason stuff done. Ended up with both poison ivy and chiggers. Great times!

Floating the Guadalupe river in my Kayak - fly rod and light tackle - day and or night, both are awesome good times! Tubing the Frio, Comal, San Marcos and or Guadalupe!







Surfing and chilling with friends along the Gulf of Mexico! Chasing a distant tropical system's groundswell as these liquid lines of power - flow in perfect symmetry, or working the wind and swell....soaking it all in along a tropical warm Gulf of Mexico!




So many species and so little time - I hunt hard them all hard - all summer long - Day and or Night, at times, on little to no sleep till the trip is done!



















Grillin and Chillin - all summer long on the old back porch with family and friends!

Summer really doesn't bother me plus it is my busy time of the year and being self employed I need to stay busy. I walk 3.5 miles a day to try and stay in some kind of shape I just have to start earlier in the summer. To me though summer is a month too long, fall is a month too short, winter is two months too long and spring is not long enough.

Man that's about as good of a representation of a Texas summer as you can get! Throw in a couple pool and lake days and patio dinner and you have it all covered. Don't get me wrong I love a good cold cloudy November morning but there is so much more to do and time to do it in the summer. For a bunch of Texans I would have never of thought there would be so much belly aching about the heat!
