Several yrs ago I was gar fishing Armond Bayou and a cop told me that the Game Wardens had removed one about 10' long because it kept bumping people's kayaks.

We chased one several years ago in pirogues in a slough off of the river. Never bothered us. Probably8-9'

I have been duck hunting at anahuac for 35 years, mostly in the deep marsh and with kayaks. I don't even worry about my 12 year ols in his kayak. Alligators are a non-issue. Different for dogs though, theuy seem to be on the menu. but the last 2 stories about a dog getting killed by a gator happen on Lake Livingston.

I learned to water ski and knee board with my ******* aunt and uncle down at the Tickfaw River in Holden, LA. My Dad's family is from Baton Rouge so I spent a bunch of time on the South Louisiana waters.

I've seen a ***** ton of gators, some big ones to boot, and not one has ever bothered me.

Nah they arent goint to bother you, I've fished with them many times. as long as you dont provoke them. Although i will say that there are a few places with alligators (Lake Raven comes to mind) that i just dont sit sidesaddle in my kayak. i keep all digits in the yak just incase one of them is curious.
