I played the UE Boom side by side with the bose and several others. UE sounded better and much clearer at higher volume levels. Id go to best buy and check them out before buying one.

The jambox by jawbone is the one we use and have been completely satisfied with, durable as well cause lord knows how many times we've dropped it.

Works great out on the boat as well.

I havea Jawbone and it is awesome. Its been dropped out of the jeep a few times and took a twenty yard tumble down a cart path this weekend...and it kept playing the whole time.

UE Boom!

This I totally agree with. My son got me one for Christmas and that thing will thump!! I can put it anywhere in my house and hear it across the street. Built in sub woofer, on board volume control and great battery life. I would suggest that one.

I have a Sony SRS BTX-300 that I got during black Friday this past Christmas for a reasonable cost. It lacks some in the bass dept. But the overall sound is good and the battery last for a good while.

I tested about 6 of these before I bought mine for the ranger including the pill. Ended up with the Jawbone Big Jambox not the mini. The one that's around $300. It rocks loud enough for me while running the ranger down the street. Battery life is awesome.

I think what I have at work is called the shock box by Phillips. It is tough and sounds good!!

Not the XL. When I bought mine it wasn't out yet. Good reviews on it compared to mine. Go to best buy and listen to both next to each other.

I have the Ecoxgear and really like it. Good sound, waterproof, shockproof and works great in the Ranger.
