Anyone not own an AR?

Am I missing the boat by not owning an AR? I'm starting to get the itch to own a 223. They just feel awkward and I don't know how much I will shoot it. But if I ever get broke into, I am gonna want one of those in my hands to protect my family rather than a 357 revolver. Advise?

I dont have one, no need for one really. Shotgun takes care of house then pistol of choice if that fails

My only advice is dont use it for protection or you'll be shooting through walls and possibly hurt other people.

I hunt with my 6.5 grendel all the time. It is the best shooting gun I own and I built it. Dont think defense think hunting.

I agree it's not the best choice for home self defense, shotgun is more effective & less liability.

I love mine. Also have an Ar 10, but the .223 is perfect for walking around the lease. Light, easy to use, and a great shooter

No AR either but with as cheap as they are getting may have to get a few...and sell them on the next big scare and make some $$.

I dont own one but it's not because I dont want one. It would be an extra, not really needed. My son loves to shoot them because of reduced recoil and its a military style weapon. Having shot them many times being in the military I find them very comfortable to shoot. Id like to have both a .223 and .308 version. Maybe someday.
