I'm looking into buying one soon once my boat sells and I got a few questions. Is there really any difference between the 800 and the 900?

I have an '07 700 and have NO problems with power at all so I can't see how 800 or 900 would be that tough of a choice?? Either will get it done... IMO

I haul/tow big weights all the time at the lease.

I don't know if this is true anymore, however, when we bought a 2013 model last year, the 800 model still had the older style frame, while the 900 had a newly designed frame.

Regardless, either one is plenty of power. We used to have a 700 XP and its payload and towing capacities were very close to even the 900's today.

Differences are night and day on the 800 and 900. Power and torque wise, the 900 is the way to go. Plus, there was an issue with the 800s getting very hot inside the cab even with heat shields over motor. The 900s moved the motor back and upgraded the heat shield and problem was solved. The axles are supposedly a little stronger on the 900s as well. I love mine thus far. The power steering is worth every extra penny by the way!

900 lots quieter. Other than that they are about the same as best I can tell.

Upgraded from a ranger 400 to 2014-800 xp. So much quieter and tons of power. They changed the exhaust manifold to reduce heat, full size battery and a few other things. The 900 is nice, but will take advantage of the last 800s before they are not made.
