Don't feel bad. Last yr at a NWTF banquet, I spent $800 on a $250 gun that I ended up selling for $200.

I don't drink either. It's all for the fun

If I drank EVERYBODY'S whisky, I still couldn't afford that stuff!

Defiance actions (very good ) are made by Glen Harrison who started Nesika Bay back in the 90's

NB was bought out by venture capitalist Charlie Kokesh (not a very honest man ) who also bought out Dakota and ran it into bankruptcy. Dakota is now owned by Remington

Glenn builds a very tight action and knows what he's doing.

1st thing I looked for was the Jewell trigger

          very nice setup brother

Thanks Blake. I will always be a bow hunter so it was more the alcohol and donation that started the thread. The rifle looks great and the trigger is the best I have felt. Hopefully get out and out some rounds through it in the next week or two. If it shoots and I hit the target that will be a bonus. It's funny, I have looked at the stuff and some people love the scope and some absolutely hate it. Same with the rifle and action. Much stronger opinions than I see from the archery crowd. I know the rifles are somewhat overpriced but it was a donation and if it's a shooter then great. I have a more modest build going on with my childhood 270 so it's all good either way.

Looks like you did well, unless you had to go take out a loan for your indiscressions.

I know a guy that had to go to his banker after our local DU banquet a few years ago, he wouldn't listen to his wife when she said don't bid on that. He ended up with several guns, ice chests, a truck tool box, and a hunt.

Dude you are going to be so hooked . It's cool to have a tool like that. You might as well get a bottle to get you happy enough to get a Leica range finder and a ballistics app for your phone. You'll need em.

Doc, if you wAnt to test that rifle out let me know. We have 300, 500 and 1000 yard gongs at the range on the lease. The shot with the wind coming off the cap rock is challenging at 300 and crazy at 1000.

I am an ob/gyn so the patient fits the bill. I think I am ok with funds to cover the bill. I put it on the professional account since that is who bought the table. I have 2 leica rangefinders but will look at the iphone app. Would love to come try it out at your lease. I have a place just outside Amarillo i can shoot to 300yds. My buddies ranch I can stretch it quite a bit. Would love to find some long range metal targets to shoot. I am all new to this type of shooting. I have the JDRF banquet coming up and we are major sponsors. Better stick to beer that night. Last year I bought my dog!!!

All for a good cause so you can feel good win or lose!

I won a trip to Hawaii a couple of years ago from the JDRF banquet in Amarillo.

My wife has saved me from making a few bad auction bids

I can get a little carried away sometimes.
