Really Chuy's? This a little rediculous.

It's the principle of it. Sort of like paying an extra "convenience fee" to pay a bill online. When we all know it's actually cheaper for the company to get paid in that way...but since they know you prefer that way they charge more. Charging more for a cheaper product basically.

Principal or not, its a dollar. You don't want to pay it, by all means don't. But I'm going to let principal stand between me taking some tres-leche cake you my mom for an extra dollar

If $1.11 is breaking your back, why you don't you eat at home? If I order food from some restaurant, about the last thing I'm worried about is a buck. Chuy's is great if you like everything smothered in queso (not a singer's favorite food). It's much cheaper to eat at home and you can have it Your Way. Being in show biz, we have to eat out a lot & we see indiscretions by both restaurants and customers on a regular basis. IF I liked Chuy's food and wanted some, I wouldn't let a buck and eleven cents stand in my way. Yeah, I get that "It's the principle" stuff, but still....$1.11??

So none of you guys will care if everything you buy from now on is a small line.... .05 fee to riverrat1?

It's only a nickle and I'd hate for you to complain about it. And we're only talking about 1/22 of what this threads about.

Coming from a restaurateurs point of view of 23 years at independent sit down type restaurants, it needs to be done. Packaging does cost money and over time silverware and plates are paid for. A lot of times the containers cost the profit that would be made on the dish. Togo containers are a constant expense that simply gets thrown away. There is also a person that has to be responsible for putting that to go order together witch costs more than a server. Then we have the fact that most people will spend less than a customer at a table. So ultimately there is loss. ToGo orders also have to be cooked like everyone elses so the kitchen is slower to get out to the seated customers. Its math. Indipendant Restaurants make very little money so I applaud their efforts. Maybe it will start a trend.
