Really Chuy's? This a little rediculous.

So I got ToGo food last night from Chuy's. Walked up to the bartender, told her I have a togo order and she wen back to get it.

I paid and left a small tip. I get in the car and look at my receipt. They charged me $1.11 for a packaging fee.

What is next? They are going to start charging dish washing fees?

    I hate fees like this.

Went to get my oil changed one time and they charged me a "shop supplies fee". Drives me crazy

i would start assuming that a "packaging fee" is the same as a tip

They probably added this fee to take out customers so they wouldn't have to raise prices on their menu for everyone.

I love that plate but feel stupid ordering it.

If I noticed it, I just wouldn't tip.

How is it any different if you take your leftovers to go?

I don't have a problem with it. I charge a pack and ship fee when I have to take the time to box something up, use shipping supplies, and send it UPS. I don't see this as being much different.

Pretty pricey bag to me. Dine in customers consume more chips and salsa, create dishwashing costs, and still get styrofoam to go containers on request. I would think a to go order has a higher margin.

You are paying for this "to go" containers. They cost the restaurant money as well. Could they build it into the cost of the meal? Yea, but the people would complain about that too. It's jut the cost of doing business, nothing is free.
