What would you do- Guy walks in Walmart with assult gun

Assuming the "gun" toter was an innocent idiot, it truly boggles the mind to consider the thought process (or lack thereof) involved in such a stunt. Really just talking about the total lack of regard for his own safety. Could have had serious and far-reaching consequences for him, possible responders, witnesses, his family, etc. Glad nothing came of it.

Carrying a long rifle is public is legal,I believe....however...from the description of how he was carrying it, he may have crossed the line....Im not sure....but it was stupid know doubt!

Finger on the trigger = manner calculated to cause alarm to me. IMHO I would have ducked out and called it in.

Most of the people open carrying rifles to exercise their rights that I have seen are not carrying them at the low ready such as it sounds like this person was.

if the establishment doesnt allow it, you can be kicked off property, but it is not illegal until you display in a manner that "causes alarm" for long guns only.

I agree with you on this. What if he went to swing it around to his back and someone with a CHL thought he was about start shooting. If the person with the CHL shot them or at them would they be in trouble?

Why it was probably stupid to carry it in the open in a Wla-mart, if it was a real gun, it's still his right. You have to be careful how you define things, there are a lot of guys who carry firearms to hunt "public lands" which by definition is in public.
