Haha. I would never have passed on the invite. I'd be high fence arrow slinging in Ohio chasing a 300 incher. Then come on TBH and post pics, drink a beer and laugh at all the comments.
Hunting that feeder is no different than hunting a corn field in Illinois!
Free range feeder hunting vs free range food plot hunting is not at all the same level of difficulty for bow hunters. Hunting trails and plots without a feeder is much, much more difficult.
Anyone on here saying the won't hunt a HF for a trophy for free is lying through their teeth.
I'm at least gonna go once and make sure its not my thing! It is a very nice lodge, in a part of the country you have never hunted, with deer bigger than you can imagine. You could count me regardless the height of the fence.
Everybody is a little testy this morning on here lol. Anybody that knows me knows that I have turn down a lot of trips to shoot bigger deer then we have at our own ranch but I prefer to hunt my own place because it’s a labor of love for me and it’s not just about killing to me, I like the hunt and managing our place. I would prefer to shoot a 140 class buck at my place then a monster somewhere else because I know I have put the work in and management practices in to get the biggest deer we can at our place. I have already shot my deer at my place this year and this opportunity came up so I said yes. If it’s shooting fish in a barrel then I will wait and pick the deer I want but if it’s a little more like the hunting I’m use to then I don’t want to let something walk on the first day that I would shoot on the last. Didn’t want to get everybody up in arms was just wondering about the place and gun situation because I have never flown before and didn’t want to mess with brining my gun on a plane. Carry on everybody
Sounds like a perfect way to look at it. My thoughts on Trophy hunting are right in line with this. Go and have fun.
LOL this thread has it all... except for pics of these racks... Specifically the ones Docmay is referring too.
I know when I posted this thread this isn’t what I was expecting at all but it’s entertaining and free. I just need to make sure I’m in a low fence cubical before I can really enjoy it
Free is Free. Ide go but wouldn't feel like i would shooting a nice deer on my low fence. I would never pay for that though. someone earlier said it best that these places are ramping up the cost for hunting anywhere now. all these lease owners see what they can be charging. Us poor folk have to find our own ways now. the glory days are over. Thanks wcwto.
