I just leave it on. Practive that way, hunt that way. No sense complicating things. Sides that I like to get off the stand and do some still hunting (well, a lot of still hunting). We always called it "sneak hunting" but whatever works.

Since I use brightly colored vanes I prefer to not have a quiver on my bow while I am drawing, it's just less "stuff" that deer might see moving.

I have a quickie quiver so its easy to take on and off. I take it off when i get in the stand, mostly because its more comfortable to lay my bow on my lap with the quiver off. It also is easier to take an arrow out of the quiver without having to pick up my bow to do so.
I think its all just personal preferance and style of hunting
