I always detach mine. With more and more bows going to smaller ATA's they tend to get in the way if you're not used to having them on there all the time. Especially when hunting out of a tree. If you do decide to keep yours on I would always practice with it on the bow.

I leave it off...just one more thing that could make a noise/get bumped. Plus it seems to add a slight 'thud' sound when I shoot with it on (probably just a bit loose).

As soon as I climb in the tree and pull my bow from the ground I take it off and hang it right beside me. Don't want the lil bit of extra noise that it could make while shooting.

A quiver and 5-6 arrows weighs about 1 lb. if it makes a difference in how you shoot, then pick up a weight and work out a bit!!!! Sheesh!!!
