I would eat axis over whitetail any day of the week.

I would too and never look back BUT there is just something special about a Texas whitetail. Whitetail will always be my first love but i sure like them axis straks!

I keep waiting for them to show up on my granddadds place in north east Leon county (Oakwood) but still no luck. we don't have hardly any deer out there do to hog over population anyway so axis would be a welcomed meat source.

If I were gonna focus my efforts on eradication, it would be hogs, not axis deer. I like axis meat !

I do to. But they jack up whitetail habitat unless supplemental feeding is in place to sustain them. They are all hogs as far as I am concerned.

I'd pop one if I saw one. But not sure I could consciously take out a herd of them.

Bout as far East in Tx that you can go. I wouldn't doubt if some got out several years back during the hurricanes.

I know where some Axis and Fallows are. Both are about 100 miles apart.
