Know a guy who killed one either last year or the year before in Houston county near Pennington off of highway 287. No high fence ranches anywhere around the area.

Couple of years ago there was nice sized herd running around San Jacinto County. Not sure what happened to them but I haven't seen them in a while

        What part of Anderson county

I know of 2 that have got loose in east Montgomery county, and you're also forgetting about the abundance of game ranches in far east Texas too. Like nacogdoches and garrison area. They are bound to have just as many escapees.

Axis have been seen in the Six Mile area of Toledo Bend, as well as Elk. Supposedly from the Temple/Scrappin' Valley project.
There was 20 or so head get out of a fence not too far from me here in Mauriceville, I won't be upset if I see one in my pasture

My hunting partner had a few show up on his place in cat springs. Im assuming they escaped a HF somewhere nearby.

It seems that they are growing in numbers.
