Just for grins and giggles, somebody do the calculations of KE decay for a 100 yd shot vs. a 50 yd shot and see what kind of bow poundage and arrow speed it would take to make a shot at 100 and still have enough KE to kill an elk.

the momentum is far more important, but only then if the shot is good.
35ke at 200fps and a 400 gr arrow, at 175 fps it gets 19 ke... still very deadly with a good shot,,Last edited by xman59; 08-21-2013, 12:31 AM.

5 for 5 at 150 is a pretty stout statement. I have shot out to 90 meters, years back, and it was fun. At 150, your paper plate is going to look like a pimple on a gnats butt.....
As for hunting, I hope the 150 yard shot never crosses your mind. Its about having them close. That is the fun part of it for me anyway.
