I prefer the old grape juice.
Mine is always around 230. I had bypass surgery 10yrs ago and was put on statins. I quit them after 1yr. I prefer the surgery over what statins do to me.

Mine has been around 230-240 for at least 20 years since it started getting measured. Meds MIGHT get them down to around 195, but at the price of making me feel so bad that I didn't feel like exercising (doing the right things for your health and life). I quit the meds and eat what I want and feel better and do things again. The meds and the doctors were killing me, or at least sucking the life out of me.
I now go to Baylor College of Medicine at the Medical Center. They don't walk into the office with a prescription pad in their hands. They have looked at everything and said that for me, those numbers are essentially normal. Your mileage may vary.

Mine was around 200 overall at my last physical but my doctor said my HDL (good col) was almost optimum and my LDL was low, along with tryglycerides being low so he wasn't concerned.

I eat a lot more fresh or frozen veggies these days. No canned veggies anymore. Meat wise, it's chicken breast and fish mostly. I do have have pork and red meat occasionally, just not as often and when I do not as much. Just had to learn a different way of cooking and eating. We'd all be a lot better off if we looked at food for just what it really is....FUEL.

Heart attack killed my dad at 63. My mom has heart issues and is having a heart procedure done Tuesday morning. I'm 50yrs old with a couple awesome of college aged kids and a wonderful wife. Doctor told me if I ever wanted be a grandpa, I needed to make some changes. Easy choice for me. :-)

Mine went to 280 and I got it down to 205 in 6 months due to cutting down on my sugar intake and taking red yeast rice and Fish Oil

Seems like if you have a family history of medical problems your goose is cooked regardless of your current good health.
Reduction in medications can be had through diet and exercise.

Anyone on any heart meds or cholesterol meds should not take red yeast rice without talking to their doctor.
