Got pulled over by an unmarked.......

So here is my story: This past Friday I was coming home from being on the road all week for work. I left Wichita Falls at 11:40am and drove straight back to SE Houston. (I will admit I was over the speed limit most of the time).

I had no traffic until I hit the Conroe Woodlands area about 4:45pm. As the freeway opens up to 5 lanes in the woodlands we all come to a stop. There is a huge truck parked on the side of the road in the shoulder near the fast lane. Everybody is rubber necking and I was getting impatient. BTW - The rental car had to be turned in by 7pm. I was making OK time at this point.

Well I saw an opening to the fast lane and used my blinker and gunned it. The fast lane was open for miles so I was back to making good time when i see the cars behind me getting out of the way in a hurry. I do the same and get over one lane and this white Grand Marquis with lights and no tent on the windows gets in behind me.

I pull over far to the right and the DPS officer comes up to the passenger side window. His name was officer Schneider and he "stated, I notice you were in a hurry back there going through traffic are there any problems?" I said no and just said that idiots rubber necking are the reasons we have traffic issues. He laughed and started in on the questions. Where am I going, what do I do for a living, etc.... He finally asked to see the rental agreement and I said it was in my bag and he said get it. I stopped and said I have my CHL carry weapon in the door panel next to me and he said no problem. We talked about guns and ammunition and then he said please lsow down. he said Fridays are special days for people in traffic. I thanked him for doing his job and thanked him for the warning.

He was extremely courteous and very professional. First time I have been pulled over in 6 years and first time with my CHL. If any of you know him please tell him thanks for doing his job.

The only thing you might consider next time you get pulled over is to tell him immediately that you have your CHL and, if you have a gun, where it's located. I had a wreck one time and took a couple of minutes before I told the nice lady officer that I had a CHL and a gun, and she got a little peeved at me that I didn't tell her right away (my mind was obviously on other things).

Looky there a traffic stop with a happy ending!!!

On another note if he had a tent in the window it might have been hard for him to see ya

                  Yep! ^^

I try to be extra respectful to LEOs even if I am ticked that I just got busted speeding... lol I mean how dare he pull me over for breaking the law.

As soon as I get pulled over I put my hands high on the steeling wheel and do not move them till he is right next to me. I then ask him if I can retrieve my info to hand him. Everything it yes sir, yes ma'am no excuses. Yep I was speeding, I know I was, no excuses. It is what it is going to be. Recently I got a WARNING from a state trooper. thats a 1st

I have always tried to put myself in his/her shoes. This person does not know I am a regular ol guy with no intention of hurting him/her. I try to think how stressful it must be to walk up to a vehicle not knowing if the crack head is going to try to shoot you.

Why even pull someone over if you are not going to give them a ticket!

I believe I did nothing illegal. My driving actions stated different. Which would of been quick lane changes in a traffic situation. I also feel that he was just wanting to know what was going on (which i am Ok with). He let me go I assume because I was legit.

The reason I did not say anything about CHL in the very beginning was due to the all the questions. But you are correct I should of said something sooner.

I f i would have a gotten a ticket for anything I would of still told this story.
