I would do it in a heartbeat if it weren't for sports, too many baseball and football games I want to watch.

So you saved some money on your bills, but how much did all that extra stuff cost you? I know the harmony remotes aren't cheap at all...

I'm starting to see this being a trend in my industry.

Been without dish or cable for over 13 years. I just have an antenna and have gotten use to all the shows that are ota. I couldn't justify the $100+ a month to sit on my butt. Gives me more time with the wife, wink wink.

That is why I stayed with my B&W tv & a pair of rabbit ears, I'm old school you know. How I get my signals? Well, that's for me to know. Ok, I use some aluminum foil for HD pictures.

I cut the cable over 2 years ago.... netflix only and its free... I dont watch tv... too many other things like gun stuff shooting or hunting that id rather be spending extra time with and I still dont get as much time as I wish I did... I do miss hunting shows though... but they aint worth paying time warner or anyone else for... tv is way way over priced... just like alot of things are...

I haven't had TV for 10 years. Wife and I spend a lot of time actually doing stuff together instead of parked in front of the tube

Regarding the cost...I spent some extra money on what I considered the best equipment I could get, but this switch can be done for Way Less and probably have very similar results.

You can get a Mohu Leaf for $39 bucks or a regular set top HDTV antenna for $20. There are all kinds and all price ranges out there. I have 5 TV's in my house, so I bought a super high quality powered, 8 way splitter. You can buy an inexpensive splitter for $10 bucks. Get a good Universal Remote for $19.99 at Best Buy or off Amazon and you are good to go!

If you want to pay for or have; High Speed Internet, then you will want a Roku (which I highly recommend and costs about $79 bucks) as there is SOOO much content on it for free. Over 3000 channels that you customize.

I have lots of hobbies and we don't watch a ton of sports and the games I do watch are usually broadcast on ABC/NBC/CBS and they are FREE!

The next and only really big expense is going to be the DVR. I'm in no hurry and supposedly the prices are coming down and there will be a lot more options in the next year. I can get a bad to the bone one with 2 recievers in it for about $300 right now, but Im going to wait and see.

We need to do the same with dish. Do you still get the hunting channels?
