        Kind of.
A couple years back I dropped extended cable down to lifeline only and kept my internet through the cable company.
I still get most all of the channels as I did before, just not the ones that are over channel 100.

I will be purchasing a special "On Air" DVR. It records shows off of the free Local Channels. I will be able to record anything (like College games) that are broadcast on CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. I can fast forward through the commercials and pause live TV as well.

There are lots of hunting and fishing channels on the Roku box.

I can also stream any video off my iPad or computer to my TV via an app called Twonky.

          J.P.
Can you give me more info on this device please

I have nothing but an antenna.... it's all what you get use to...I find that I have missed nothing in the last 15 years of no cable... it all depends what your comfort zone is with television....

Have Dish at home---live too far from any metro areas (closest tv stations are over 80 miles away) so can't use an antenna for anything. But Dish is better than our cable company!

The wife and I just did it. It is going to get some getting used to but so far so good. Like it was said above, there are allot of hunting channels on Roku! This was the only reason I agreed to it! ;-)

Then you're basically on a different type of cord...

no cable here and dont miss a thing. We do have roku and netflix so there is plenty of entertainment. There are hunting shows on Roku as well.

                          I need to do this.

But yes, the sports addiction is a problem.

I'm sure my friends would tire of me showing up for games.

We just did the same... cancelled directv. i dont know how much our family friends coming in town to tailgate for football season are gonna like it, but i guess they'll just have to make due. saves me about $65/month

I couldn't do it because of sports. Texas Rangers play nearly every game on FSN and most of Tech's games are on ESPN or FSN. I enjoy watching all day football on saturdays too much also.

Your thread got me thinking.........I just got off the phone and cancelled Dish....we have a couple Roku's, netflix and amazon prime. Did not watch enough TV to justify the 115 a month
