    Anybody own a NuCanoe?

With all the talk about kayaks for fishing I started looking into some of them. Being a big guy ( 300+ )and new to kayaks I'm looking for something that is very stable. When looking at different ones I seen some info on NuCanoe. Does anybody own one of these are have used one?

I will listen to any help or suggestions.

    Thanks

I had one it fished great, duck hunted great, and ran a few rivers great, even did some inshore fishing also GREAT... Overall great boats, I mean canoe, I mean kayak. Loved every minute I was in it. Sold it when we moved but will have another one day. I had the classic 10.

I will say the only thing I would have done different was get the 12' for more storage space and more stability. I fly fished a few times out of the 10' and it was plenty sturdy but I bet the 12' is rock solid. If you can't tell, I loved my NuCanoe...

I guess on my next day off this next week, I will have to make a trip into Dallas to take a look at them. Just not sure if I want to know what the price is yet. LOL

Be ready they run from $700-$1000+ depending on accessories but in my opinion and experience they are well worth it. Watch Craigslist for used ones they pop up from time to time.

Look at the NuCanoe Frontier. It was designed and built for fishing. I have a 10'er and I love it. The swivel seat is 16" tall and makes fishing out of it like fishing from a bass boat chair. They are a little heavy. The 10' is 53# and the 12 is 76#. You can put up to a 3 1/2 HP out board on them. Of course you would need numbers.

I just purchased the Frontier 12. Waiting on it to get here at the end of the month. Base yak is $1179 where I got mine from. Good luck with the decision, I'm sure you will like them.

I'm am on Team NuCanoe (prostaff) and own the Frontier 12. You will not find more stable kayak. I am on the coast fishing this weekend. This morning the wind was blowing hard. White caps and I was fishing while standing. Can't get more stable than that. I 6'3" and 290# Go to Mariner Sails in Dallas and talk to Mike. Tell him Keith McQueen with Team NuCanoe sent you. Also if you have any questions let me know and I will see what I can do.

Not sure where Wylie is but there dealers in Houston, Dallas, and. Austin. You can also go to NuCanoe.com and search dealers. Let me know if you need if I can help out.

I've got mine coming in this week! Ordered it through MOC Kayaks out of Austin. Dan seems like a pretty good guy and ran through some hoops to get mine added to his last order. I've yet to come across anyone who's complained about their Nucanoe Frontier.

They are pretty awesome for salt as well.

I was stuck on a Jackson until I saw these. I am going to pick mine up from West Coast Kayaks here in St Pete this weekend. I just need to get my welder here from Texas so I can start building some stuff for it.

BTW, the place I am getting mine from does free shipping and no taxes if you are out of state.

I have one of the older ones. I love it. Paddles good, very stable, and holds tons of gear. Only draw back is weight. It weighs about 90 lbs. I don't have trouble loading or dragging, but you would not want to portage very far.
