Here's my supplements. I have used them both in the past with great results. The red jug really taste great after a hard work out. It helps with muscle recovery and soreness alot. Lower sugar levels, and a good amount of protein. And did I mention it taste great! But ya got to get berry blast...the other flavors are not near as good. The prework out is moderate but still gives ya a good pump. I don't like the stuff that gives ya the jitters after taking it.

More of anything I would really like this thread to be inspiration and create a challenge to push each other to work harder for our upcoming hunts. Showing stats, accomplishments, and results vs. just advice.

Advice is good when you can show results at the present time and pushes me to work harder. The mental mindset, drive, teamwork and competition is what I am looking to accomplish with this thread.

That being said ...lets schedule a day 2 weeks from now for a trail hike for the DFW folks.

Who knows a challenging trail within easy driving distance....Keep, you know of any good ones?
I hiked the head of the Ouachita Trail to get an idea of where I needed to be...
Oklahoma, but not very close. Started in Talihina.

This is the hard part for me...I love my cold beer after a hard days work, dinner, while hunting, while fishin, when I am stressed, B-days, Labor day, social events..... did I mention a celebratory bottle of wine I bought for my lady when our Son is born??? LOL... I have cut back to just a few on weekends though.

The Top o Texas trail has a nice little elevation gain.

I agree with Crossfit, but you don't need to join a box. When it all boils down to it, Crossfit contains the same exercise as our grandfathers did in boot camp: pullups, push ups, situps, squats, over and over again till you're tired. I will agree that these workouts will get you conditioned for an Elk hunt. Don't worry about heavy weight, but more so concentrate on a good weight for a lot of reps and time to get conditioned. These exercises will get your core real well, and thats the important part. you don't want to hike with poor posture and rupture a disc. Exercise using your body weight or a light to moderate weight for an extended period of time.

Also, eat right and drink right. You feel better when you eat better, therefore you workout better, and you lose weight better. Good luck on your trip.
