I have the chips and had zippers put in them. I have bad ankles and its easier to get my foot in them.

I like the Redhead snake boots. I have the lace ups. I had a pair for five years before. I wore them a lot and after five years they fell apart, but for my use, that is pretty good.

I just recently bought the Danner Sharptails. No lace up & no needing to break the boots in. I've been using Chippewa's for about 4 years now and I must say. I really like the Danners. Lighter, cooler and more comfortable. Used them right out of the box at the ranch. I'm very happy with them.

All of mine say Made in USA! I have never heard of them leaving Justin, Texas.

My last 2 pair of boots have been zipups. I admit this is being mentally and physically weak, but I found myself going for Zipups every morning. Hopefully Crocs will not come up with a pair of snake boots.

I have a pair of cabelas lace up snake boots that I love, they feel just like tennis shoes. They do get cold in cold weather thought as they are not insulated

The ones that zip up. I like mine but lacing them up gets old in a hurry.

One boot to stay away from is the Rocky Snake boots, I have had a couple pairs and they fall apart and are lose their ability to keep your feet dry pretty quick even when walking through grass with mildew.
I have worn the chippewas, and like them, but my new favorite is the cabelas slip ons. They are extremely comfortable out of the box and after a season work, dove, deer and hog hunting they are still like new and my feet don't hurt after a day in the field. I looked at the Redhead from BPS and between the two types, I felt the Cabelas were more comfortable from the start, but BPS did not have a slip on to compare them too so it may not be a fair comparison. I did try the Zip up from both, and liked that the BPS had a metal zipper whereas the Cabelas was made of plastic.
Just my .02cents but now currently my wife and I both wear cabelas brand, and have not had a problem at all, but I may purchase a pair of the BPS zip-ups when they go on sale for $89 at BPS.

I have a pair of the Cabelas snake boots. They zip up the front and are very comfortable. No complaints yet!

I also agree with the Chippewa's. I wanted the Justins but couldn't find them in my size so I went with the Chip's. I wore them around the house all day Saturday thinking I would need to break them in before I went to my new lease this weekend. I didn't want to take them off!!

I have chippewa's also, but I had a heavyduty zipper put in on the back of the boots, and they're comfortable enough for me.
