These are a custom made pair by the Montague Boot Company which sells the Larry Mahon line of boots out of Cavenders. Most of the workers including my mom are former original Nocona and Justin employees before both moved operations. These boot have cordura viper cloth tops, shark bottoms with spur strap for extra protection with crepe soles on wide 4 toe design. Very comfortable boot and still made in Texas.

Thanks for the information, I believe I will go with the Danner Sharptail Covey slip ons. They may cost a little more, but at my age I need comfort and convenience.

      thanks

I have used my redheads from basspro for the past 2 seasons and can't complain. They have worked on 2 seperate occassions for me. I also paid $99 when they put them on sale.

Good choice - you won't be sorry. After a lot of research and asking around I went with the Danners and I really like them.

Coachwhip...those are freaking sweet. I will never understand why a Texan would buy a boot that was not made in Texas.

I like the Chippewas, easy on and off and comfortable.

I am guessing the Chippewa guys don't rock cowboy/western boots on a daily basis. There is nothing wrong with that, just a guess.

Newsflash...the Justins slip on and are the most comfortable boots in the world. Tekno Crepe soles.

Yea, kind of. I got distracted by the kiddo while I was typing . The Chips work for me, but the Justin's don't. It kind gets distracting when they both have the parent company. As far as western boots go, I would be in them everyday, of I could.

I have a real nice pair of hunting boots but they don't have snake protection and I don't think they're tall enough. thinking of getting the Turtleskin gaters from Cabelas. Is up to the knee enough height to be safe from most snakes?

I know lace ups are a pain, but I have a pair of Danner 18" Snake boots and they are by far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn.

Please excuse me as I slip into my Black Justin Tekno Crepes and go down to the Whitehorse in Del Rio to watch the end of the Mavs game and the Spurs game.
