AMSEC is one of the few electronic locks with a UL listing as well. A lot of folks think all electronic locks are the same. They are just like the safe....every brand is different.
I have had friends decided on an spin dial over electronic but hated the time it took to open.... Showed them how you can set the dial on 2 digit combo vs. a 6 (some of you think a crook can figure that out but you would be surprised)
Actually both S&G and LaGuard make UL listed locks. All except for one of the safes we manufacture are UL listed for Residential Security Container. In order to have that certification it must have a UL listed lock on it.
On the electronic KP safes with the skeleton key, what stops someone from just removing the keypad to pick the skeleton key lock? I'm not a locksmith or a lock picker so it may be hard, I dunno. Sounds like the combo is the way to go IMO. I'm going to be in the market for a safe before too long but I was thinking about building a safe "room" for my guns and other hunting stuff plus some other valuables.
