My Own Dog Bit Me!!

He spent a week in the back yard.( to stupid to get out of the rain) she came and got her animal.

Wow...that would be one dead poodle. Or at least it would be wishing for death once I was finished with it.

My initial reaction would not be good. After I thought about it for a little while, he would be put down if he already wasn't. No exceptions for me. It will happen again, and maybe next time it will be a kid, baby, etc. Not worth it.

A punitive reaction, while in itself not a problem, fits in to the pack mentality of a dog (they always snip at each other).
That dog needs to understand on a daily basis that YOU are the Alpha and YOUR needs, wants, etc. supercede his in any and all circumstances. That won't keep him from biting someone else in the future (like your kids), but when he know who the Alpha is, he won't bite him again.
