Farmdog called me this AM and asked me to get this thread rolling and let everyone know he decided to plant on what is the traditional Mother's Day weekend for getting Sunflower seeds into the dirt!!
We had some light moisture this weekend & he stated it was perfect. There is a slight chance of water rationing in the coming summer months depending on future rain, so the farming prowess of the Mercedes native strikes again!! I expect this to be another banner year with more land planted than ever!!
I will post of up a few pics from the past, but would ask that leggy, scotty and the other big boy camera folks do the same to help the new folks get an understanding of what you can expect for these two weekends of the deep south Texas special whitewing zone. Firm dates will be announced soon enough, but expect labor day weekend to be the start if history falls in line.
Please feel free to ask any questions here that you may have in regards to cost, group hunts, etc or PM Farmdog, Legdog and Agdog for all specifics. All dinner and party plans, shirts and other concerns will be coming soon enough.

I will draft Beamer to head out east every couple of weeks to keep tabs on the flowers and give updates, along with getting rid of any black birds if Mark needs some depredation for the fields.
