I backed my boat over one and just destroyed it. I sent it in for repairs and they replaced it with a new one for $30... About 3 weeks after I got it, Rick Collins with Lews called me and asked how I was liking my reel. Talk about customer service!

If I drop a reel and it breaks, it's the reel's fault and I shouldn't buy anything from that company ever again.
What if I slam a rod in the tailgate? Is that my fault or should I never buy that brand again?

I've not tried most of the newer reels talked about here, but that's because I have had the same two Swedish made garcia's (a 5600 and a 6000) for almost 20 years, and they are still going strong. I had a buddy try to trade me a calcutta for one a while back, tried it, stayed with the garcia. Why mess with success?
