Building stuff out of lumber, welding, normal stuff around the house, I can do it, do it right, and enjoy doing it BUT, other than changing the oil or a flat on a vehicle, I am out.

Mechanical.. I learned working on cars in driveway.. Went to school auto/diesel.. Left auto side of it stayed diesel.. I've worked on 3.3L on stock tank to our 78L... Just looking for the day to be standing and working on the 95L and 120L , but for now it's 9L to 15L and looking for the next door to open to see where I go next.. I would rather have a older mechanical engine rather than all this new electronic stuff but gotta thank the EPA for that..

Mechanical. Industrial Maintenance Tech by trade, build/restore jeeps as a hobby.

I (and my dad) have restored or built 8 jeeps over the past 18 years, including engines, axles, transmissions, etc. Some just minor upgrades, some starting over from a pile of rusty parts. Also rebuilt his 1955 Ford tractor.

Only thing we send out are auto transmissions. Haven't messed with'em, don't care to. Lol

I am very mechanically inclined. Dad was a general contractor. I grew up around and worked construction my whole life. Been doing heavy/light electrical work for the past 30 years. I do what ever I can on my vehicles and call no one to fix anything around our homes.
I have gotten better at snapping heads off bolts

I bet I could rebuild a carb, for instance, but it would take forever because at every step, as I am reading the manual, I will want to know what the thing does and how it works. This is why sometimes I avoid doing these things becuase it takes so much time, and I don't have all the time in the world to learn everything!
Wow, Sounds like my Father in law got a TBH account. He's an n ga neer and will read the manual twice while I already have whatever it is put together, however i do make far more mistakes than he does.

I figure I'm pretty mechanical. I rewired my entire car (65 mustang) when i was 15 and did a bunch of engine work on it too. Just about the time I got the motor right, the Trans locked up, so I cobbled it back together with parts from another similar one, but slightly different model, so I had to have some parts modified to fit.
I can build most anything out of wood or metal, and enjoy designing stuff from scratch. Home repairs were not something I had a ton of experience with until a couple of years ago, but now, i think I could build a house from the ground up if necessary, to include framing piping, wiring (would need someone to tell me how many circuits and what size wires though), windows, siding (I'm not a brick layer), flooring, tile, cabinet building, countertops, sheetrock, texture....I truly am a jack of all trades, master of none.
Kaitlin calls me the human google because I know a little bit about a lot of stuff and can do almost anything that I set my mind to.

When I took my test to go into the navy they told me not to expect to be a Doctor or Lawyer so a grease monkey it was. That was in 82 and been working on airplanes ever since.

                        Mechanical....
And btw an engineering degree does not make you---well never mind

Non-mechanical here. I'm good to put a book shelf together.

One time I was working on fixing something with my son. I cannot even remember what it was, but he said to me..."Is it broken dad? We probably need to buy a new one right?" I felt a little ashamed of the impression my son has of my fixing skills!
