Just to follow up, here is what Mr. Zipp, the nutritionist for Red Chain, said.
"Michael,
We use old process peanut meal to build our deer pellets so they are very
palatable. We also put the same margins on all feeds so the deer pellets
dont get an extra "jab" so to speak. Another critical issue to me is that
the feeds are consistent since we dont least cost formulate which causes
changes all the time in formulas.. These feeds are consistent from load to
load. Currently our 17% floor stock pellets sell for $398 per ton and the
20% are at $410 per ton in bags picked up here. If your wanting bulk then
just take off $24 per ton and add $1.25 per mile for delivery. Bobtail
bulk trucks hold 12 ton and semi 24 ton. I usually suggest for a new user
to just buy some bag stuff first to get a feel for the feed. If you come
to get bag feed be sure to call ahead so they hold it back for you. Give
me a call anytime you have questions.

Very nice man, and his willingness to help alone influenced me to buy some!
