Last day of "Hellweek" is in the books! The combination of it being a week/weekend of celebration for the freedom that our soldiers continue to provide for us to continue to be an independant country and the folks that this WOD was created in rememberance of caused me to dig really deep this morning and push through a LOT of spots that I wanted to stop and take in some oxygen. My effort proved to be good enough for a new CFV Box record by 59 seconds (23:39) and hopefully did the WOD the justice that it deserves. RIP to all of the heros that this WOD was designed in rememberence of.

I hate running a lot too... If I wasn't doing crossfit I wouldn't be running. Which is a good reason for me to do crossfit.

This one looks like a good Hero WOD to do. And by good, I mean one that I will have to mentally prepare for a week or so, and then know it will take a week or so to recover from.

I have never tried Pistols - are they pretty tough?

I would say yes. I can do a few on each leg, but 20 would be killer. I like doing them though.

I'm in Port Isabel this week and haven't done a WOD since Wednesday. I need to do a few WODs this week and next or I'm going to hurt when I get back to the box.

Pull you a couple of river rocks up out of the Frio next week that weigh 15lbs each or so and do the WOD that I posted above for Split Arrow.

100 Burpees for time is always fun you could even do it in the shallow part of the river for added enjoyment

Better yet I think you should do jumping squats on your Tube and then post the video here for us to see

I did assisted pistols. Basically did them next to the rack for balance. They are really hard assisted if you don't cheat (hold the rack and either lean back or pull yourself up rather than use your leg). They are impossible for me to do normally as I just don't have the balance for it when exerting that much effort on the squat itself. I ain't gonna lie, I'd break an arm trying to do more than one or two unassisted.

Got my first competition coming up this weekend in The Woodlands. Signed up for the scaled division since it's my first comp. and really looking forward to it. Guaranteed to do 2 WODs with the 3rd being the Finals. They scaled it down a lot, but I'm nervous and excited at the same time

                          WOD 1
10 SQUAT Snatches (Scaled-95/55) Power Snatch + OHS is acceptable
20 Yard Shuttle Run (20 yards out, 20 yards back to Bar)
                          20 Ground To Overhead (Scaled-95/55, Masters-95/55)
40 Yard Shuttle Run (40 yards out, 40 yards back to Bar)
30 Burpees To Jump On 45lb Plate
60 Yard Shuttle Run (60 yards out, 60 yards back to Bar)

                          WOD 2
                          5 Minute Amrap
                          Down And Backs *Buy In
                          Then for remainder of time
                          15 Double Unders / 30 Single Unders
                          3 Power Cleans (95/65)

I just tried them here in the living room - not even close to getting it done - of course my wife had to hop up off the couch and do 3 in a row to show me up!
