Some have said they would like to shoot a zebra but would not eat it. Opposite for me - I have no desire to shoot one but would definetely try a zeebsteak. The only meat I find off-putting is that of the carnivore. No mountain lion for me , thanks. To each his own I reckon...

Hot dogs are only made out of USDA approved meat. No chicken lips like everyone believes.
That is not a very exclusive club. Just because the USDA blesses a piece of meat doesn't mean it is of high quality. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a hotdog occasionally. I bet most of us do. But I think the product you are getting with zebra is probably better than the average hotdog and made of less distasteful parts.

I would eat it but I still think of them as striped horses. Look at a zebra skull and you might also

I remember eating horse that my Mom bought someplace in Carthage. It was wrapped like a meat market would package it. I liked it but my Dad complained that it was too sweet. We never had it again after that.

I've eaten zebra dozens of times in Africa. If you're eating the good parts (hams, backstrap, tenderloins) it's hard to tell the difference between chicken friend zebra and any venison you've ever eaten.

The best piece of game I ever ate was one of these guys, in Zimbabwe.

Not even remotely close to shooting a horse!

I have killed 35-40 zebra with clients in my professional hunting career and most of them feel the same way you do...until they are there. Due to the fact that they are large herd animals, and the fact that a herd of another species will usually run with them, they can be a very difficult animal to hunt. If you don't believe me just try to stalk one.

I'll tell you what...Hebrew National hotdogs are freaking the best. Kosher dogs are muy bien.

seems I saw a couple or stories lately. one said that horse meat made it into Jack-n-box (I think - not sure country), the other was horse meat sold as ground beef in europe. Who can really say anymore what they may or may not have eaten.

For the original question, I think I would at least try it. Else I'm not much better than the folks who won't even try venison, wild hog, javelina... now possum, yote, coon and squirrel are a few that I've never really wanted to eat... but who knows.

I've never eaten one, but I skinned one once! Kind of like skinning your friends pet horse!

For you guys that say Jack had kangaroo meat in their tacos don't you realize a kangaroo is a horse that jumps???

I'd eat it. At least once anyway. If I liked it fine. If I didn't I wouldn't eat it again. But I ain't eatin no Rocky Mountain oysters...
