Paleo is a great diet. I have been on it and wish I would have stuck to it. Will probably go back on it soon once I start crossfit. I have never been a big guy Im usually around 175-185 and when I started the diet I was 185 and in 2 weeks I dropped 10 pounds without even working out. I felt a ton better too.

Dieting tips? Paleo Diet?
Good advice mixed with some misleading information.
My opinion:
Carbs are not the devil and fruit isn't a saint. While natural, fruit is still loaded with fructose/sugar which when ingested and not metabolized will store as fat. Carbs, complex ones, are critical in providing energy. It's like stopping at the gas station and filling your motor up with oil but not putting fuel in the tank. Doesn't add up.
Eat CLEAN food, control your portions, eat frequently, and exercise. Your metabolism will adjust quickly when it realizes your intake is healthy and frequent and it will burn more and store less. Very simple. The diet doesn't need a name to be effective.

Can't argue that.

[QUOTE=Agdog;6478254]Good advice mixed with some misleading information.

"Carbs, complex ones, are critical in providing energy."
I am a healthcare professional, and studied nutrition, athletic performance, and strength and conditioning. In college and early in my career was taught this concept. However there is new information along the primal eating community that refutes this. I am back and forth on it.
What I should have said, fast processed carbs are the devil. Carbs taken thru vegatables like spinach, avacados are the way to go. Some primal eating plans suggest only eating fruit during the spring and summer growing seasons because that is when our ancestors would have eaten them, then abstaining from fruits during the winter. The best lifestyle eating plan is the one that works for you. We are all wired a little bit different.
Here is another good source:
