Sugar and carbs are the devil. Look up the diet doctor.com, robb wolf, and other paleo lifestyle websites. Get off artificial sweeteners too, cause your brain doesn't know the difference between real and fake sugar. Diet doctor has a good article on it. First phase of Insansity I lost 8 lbs with the diet those magazines tell you to eat. When I tried paleo the first time mid year last year I lost 8 lbs with limited working out...

Re: Dieting tips? Paleo Diet?
I just completed the 7 day "GM Diet" (plenty of info available on the net) and lost 12#. Now, I'll change up some eating habits to maintain that loss, and possibly lose a little more. It was pretty easy to do, and I think it might be a great way to start any dieting regimen. Good luck!

I did the whole 30 and paleo diet. it was great, and cut some weight, but not a quick fix. and paleo eatting is more expensive. processed foods are cheap.
I also did the atkins diet, little to no carbs, back in the day. THis one had a lot quicker and far more dramatic results. I lost alot of weight, but was also eating little to no carbs and working out and running alot.
either would be good, but i would probably, because i know better now, suggest paleo. it is far healthier for your body.

I dropped a 50 spot by basically following an easy diet that I came up with by combining a number of diets that I tried in the past. Pretty basic.......I take in around 2000 calories a day.....shredded wheat cereal with nonfat milk and a boiled egg for breakfast.... grilled chicken with salad veggies (shredded cabbage/slaw, lettuce or spinach) with apple cider vinegar/seasonings at lunch.....then more chicken or lean beef and steamed veggies and brown rice or whole wheat bread for dinner. With 2 or 3 apples in between and maybe a high protein bar. Daily calorie intake of +/- 40-50% protein, +/-30% carbs, +/-20% fats - with a lot of carbs coming from fruit and cereal. Like others have said....stay away from processed foods and basically just eat food that is good for you. Works for me. Good luck!

With the cost of everything going up, I am just curious. I don't want to base what I eat off of how much it costs, because my son and my health comes first, but as a single mom on a limited budget I'd like to have an idea of what to expect.
I also approached it methodically. I would plan out meals for the week, including leftover for lunch and make a list of ingredients I would need. Shop & only buy what was on the list

Paleo is what i've been keeping to, I have lost about 52lbs since June 1st of last year. I'm a large guy and love food. It was the easiest diet for me to stick to because i could still eat steak and meats that i love with no guilt as long as they weren't soaked in condiments or butter. Also i cycled on and off a 24 day challenge with Advocare. That's what i used as a kick start. Within the 24 day challenge i lost 22lbs right off the bat. Anyone that is interested in advocare let me know.
