Everybody has google earth. There are no secret spots. Or you can do what we used to do in the 90's, just burn their blinds, cut the fuel hoses off there boats, make flat tires common. Thats how we protected our stuff when it was just crazy good, if you werent from around here, you probably werent going to come back. Public duck hunters are ruthless as stated above. But crying?, theres no crying in duck hunting.
Adding you to the list of people i hope i never encounter

LMAO! Plenty of entertainment in this thread.

All we need now is a guy from the other group to show up and rant about a guy he encountered this morning at his public land "secret spot".

Well that is public hunting, if you are that aggravated you should probably hunt a lease that way it is private property. That's what I did, got tired of idiots and waiting in line all night.

Its just the way it was when you had families that hunted certain ponds and areas for generations. Everyone respected each other, and didn't hunt other peoples stuff. Then all the sudden you get the Barney's coming in from out of town and want to be a duck hunter all the sudden. They don't respect anybody's blinds or area. Then they show up late and set up on top of people, leave trash everywhere. Can't blow a call to save there life, sound like they are blowing a kazoo. Sky blasting all the time. **** dog running wild all over the place. So, they had some real back luck and didn't come back. Bye bye Barney.

I went to Fork yesterday morning, never fired a shot, and still had fun. Relax and be happy happy happy about the ducks you DID get.

Well I used to hunt star lake a lot in McFadden and we always had guys setting up on top of us. We slept in our trucks and were 1st or second in line always. We the gates opened u lined up and received a white dot that represented 200 yards. They had several spots marked on the board and once you placed your dot nobody else's dot good touch yours. Many times the folks that showed up at 5:00 would place their dot somewhere in the board but hunt 70 to 80 yards from us. We always shined people with our spot light as a courtesy to let them know where we were if they got to close. Several times people still just set up on top of us. If we wanted to team up or hunt with other people we figured that out at the sign in or while waiting in line all night. I could see how the other guy would be upset with folks showing up late and he probably felt like y'all were too close. The place could have easily held two groups of hunters but I wasn't there. Good luck on your future hunts and get them buddies out of bed earlier

Edit: Most public land duck hunters also have backup spots if their "honey hole" is taken.

So now your crying about hunting public land and someone who has just as much right as you to be there. They may not be as seasoned as you but hey they are trying. Don't look down on someone who may not have as much knowledge as you. Suggest some insight to them, don't slash their tires.

You seem to be a great representative of the sport

Seems to me you duck hunters got some ego issues. I'm just saying.

Imagine going deer hunting and ol Barney sliding on in and setting up 20yds on the other side of your feeder where he is sticking out like a sore thumb. Well he was running a little late and the suns already coming up, he's is ruining prime time but hey that's typical. He's got a mutt he thinks is train to blood trail but in reality is a common fleabag that occasionally barks as deer are approaching. The "hunter" pulls out his "as seen on TV" grunt tube and blows on it for the next hour and a half. At this point Barney is tired of hunting and start picking up leaving a bunch of trash behind. Yep that's ol Barney. Barney he is usually one of those yuppie sub division types. for the record, we still hunt public and still kill tons of ducks. Should break 700 tomorrow. Been pounding stale birds lately, hopefully we get some fresh birds in the next week.

I understand it its like putting up a feeder, cameras, blind etc then coming to see someone else hunting it. But if you think you can get out on public water at 5 youre crazy
