Last thing your want to do is be fumbling around trying to get a round chambered while an armed person is running towards you.
Just curious why LEO's are okay to carry with a round chambered?
Same as above but not as worried about person running toward me . I can chamber a round faster than they can run, but I can't chamber faster than a trigger can be pulled.

Not sure if this YouTube link will work
Israeli Method from C3.....training training training. Far from being a CLUB, BRICK or INERT OBJECT!
The bottom URL will fire.
Just food for thought.....but....it takes some serious "stick time" to get here. During the 80s.....alot of these ideas formed within the Tactical communities as hardware and methods modernized to meet certain carry requirements...many of us were forced to carry Condition 3.....SO we were forced to take it to this level. Within the a few select military units - particularly those that worked LAW ENFORCEMENT DAILY, this was the adopted style of training to meet carry requirements.

I mean, what are the actual chances of you EVER having to use that weapon? How many LEO go a full career and NEVER need to pull their gun out of their holsters? I guess I'm just gun shy after my neighbor's life changing ordeal.
Skinny
As to the cops and how many go through a career without ever needing to pull a gun from their holster? None.
A better question would be how many times this month?

Good video, that is how myself and a few others on here were trained by our Israeli counterparts..and when I instruct students it is their call as to how they want to be trained cold or hot makes no matter to me . I can run it fast either way..Last edited by Tuffbroadhead; 12-13-2012, 10:20 AM.

What's the chance of a gun going off in the wrong hands with no bullet in the chamber??? That's my point. It's basically impossible to shoot a gun without a bullet in the chamber is it not???
I know what can happen...been there. It'll change your way of thinking.
Be safe!!!

Yup Dale - and note the lowered stance - all in fluid motion.
I've always mentioned...."beware of the shortest guy in the room packing heat...that's been trained well!"
Profile and posture......to take it to one more level.....a move left or right during the draw....with continued motion after committment to the direction of movement as you engage fire = DEADLY for the opposition to acquire a solid target!
Shooting lanes kind of keep you from training this way.....so this is where you go outside and setup with a wide zone. We went left handed, right handed, never allowing the gun to ever fall back on an empty slide. Empty slide reloads = too much time to reengage = bye bye. Better to drop the magazine on reload with one or two rounds in the mag....as demonstrated by this video versus a locked slide on an empty chamber.
I miss those days! You are living the life Brother!!!!

didnt read any other respones but my answer is - yes of course....why wouldnt you! What good is an unloaded gun- thats what it is at that point. If your prepared to carry and pull, then you need to be prepared to pull that trigger in an instant!
There is nothing dangerous about it! The gun in my truck is loaded and over half the guns in my safe are loaded!
