I hunt two different places in Liberty county and saw some serious chasing 2 weeks ago on both places, one far north and other eastern part of county. I havent seen a deer in last 2 sits. yesterday evening or this morning.

Live near van, and on the way home this morning saw a young spike patrolling the edge of the woods along 80. When I got home there was a young eight point running a doe in the food plot about 100yds. from the house. He ran her for a bit and then went to the feeder and finished the morning eating corn. I would say the rut is beginning.

Just got out of the woods and I still haven't seen a deer, Lots of tracks but nothing during the day.

Sure would be nice to at least see one.

Back in the stand this morning and the rut is on like donkey kong here by me. At be the tail end but have seen 3 nice bucks - all chasing. With that - there have been a ton of shots this morning.

I found some scrapes after that last cold front came through then they abandoned them. Saw a MONSTER 11pt loosely following a doe last tue but he didn't seem too determined. I've been out in the woods a bunch since October opener and haven't senn much at all-3 doe, 1 spike twice and that big buck once. Total sightings=6. They are here, I have 100's of pics ! Big bucks at night, doe and spikes at random times. I think the bumper acorn crop in my area and warm weather is causing the lack of movement.
But I'm still going to be out here every chance I get !
                C'mon cold weather !

If this keeps up, I might just quit focusing on deer and my hog hot spots !

I saw four bucks chasing a hot doe yesterday morning. I have never seen a doe run that fast. A brown blur at 500 yards. Two nice bucks and two smaller bucks after her. This is in southern Polk county.

I set off a buck bomb 2 dys ago and had 6 bucks mow the woods down looking for it within 2 minutes literally. They run around crashing through the woods I didn't know which one to shoot then they all disappeared before getting a shot. They were grunting fighting running crazy. That's the first time I ever used buck bomb and seen the affect of it in action.
