Only one buck that was killed this weekend had dark t-glands and he was 170 lbs 4.5'5.5 old deer. Bucks on cam t-glands aren't dark yet either West Hardin Co

I hunt northern newton county and our rut was full swing last weekend wet well worn scrapes and this weekend dead had a small 4 come in a sniff a scrape but never tended and all 5 of my scrape lines are dead. Sadly I missed it this year and have the trail cam pics to prove it. My buddy gave me the scrape report from last weekend. Of course he choose to hunt a feeder last weekend. WHOOPS!

Same here. All the ground scrapes I was finding a week or two ago aren't being worked anymore either, and I'm not finding any new ones.

A bunch of our does in HOUSTON Co are already bred. this happend mid Oct. I personally saw bucks breeding does. There were so many does in at the same time that even young bucks were getting to breed does and the scrapes went cold. The secondary rut will be awesome as there will be far less does in heat and the same amount of bucks looking for them.

                    Next week......

Youth weekend when we took the boys we saw flashes of does running, then three different bucks (two were huge, couldn't get a good look at the others headgear) and they had one thing on their mind. We couldn't distract them for anything. This weekend we were gonna bust them. We saw nothing!!! Hoping when the weather gets a little cooler around Thanksgiving they will start moving good again. Got really discouraged this past weekend especially when we know whats on the cameras.
But guess thats why they call it hunting, not killing!

Every day since Saturday I have seen young bucks moving quickly looking for does. They won't stop for corn. My son shot a doe Saturday evening and had 4 young bucks follow the trail she was on. I shot a mature 8 point that was neck swollen and had dark glands. I'm in southern Polk County.
