At our place in Cuero we have deer coming to most but not all feeders. With the acorn crop we've set our times to feed for 3-5 seconds instead of 5-7 like we normally do. Not too much corn on the ground so they seem to be eating it.

I was out there Tuesday and saw 2 doe and a small 6 come to the feeder and eat the corn.

Like Froghunter said, only at night.

Corn piling up here, too. Everything is staying deep in the oak bottoms vacuuming up acorns.

On our place the mountains of acorns are blocking the deer from getting to the feeders!

Mainly at night. Seeing a few each hunt but nothing like the usual. I got skunked 1 time all last year and I have been skunked 3 time already this year.

This morning, 41 degrees, no wind, no full moon, little corn left on the ground: what I thought was a perfect SMACK DOWN morning........NOTHING. Like HC Sniper, I've been skunked 3 times this year. I know they say a bad day of hunting beats any day at work, but everything was too perfect not to happen. Oh Well, still nice to get out and have my quite time.

My cameras activity at the feeders is way down.

4" of rain in the past 3 weeks has helped the native vegtation, plus the acorns, plus all my wheat/oat fields are up......

I changed set-ups and am now set-up on a main trail leading to one of the food plots.

We have only seen a hand full of deer at the feeder through the first 3 weeks of the season. Hunted on Sunday and still didn't see any. I ran out to the lease yesterday afternoon to drop off a tree stand and went ahead and picked up my card off my camera. Couldn't believe it. Deer everywhere. From Monday morning through last night, they did not miss a feed. We're in the middle of the rut right now and had a lot of new bucks show up. Looking promising for the weekend.

They were like this where I hunt 8 days ago. Like walking on a kabillion marbles. They were turning brown though so thought I'd ask people.

Acorns are still everywhere on our place.

You know it's bad when even the coons and squirls aren't hitting the corn.

Looks like I'm only going once then. Maybe Sat morning. Not taking the kids thats for sure. Do not want them getting bored and then not want to go back.

We don't really have any oaks on our place to speak of but if the oaks at your places are producing like the ones in my front yard I feel for you guys. I have to sweep the sidewalk everyday to be able to walk to the mailbox.

Even with no oaks at our place the deer at the feeders as dropped dramatically. Just not seeing the numbers we were before the rains. Come on freeze!!

When that little front blew through our place the evening of the 6th I was in my tree stand and it sounded like a stampede coming through there from all the acorns falling from the trees. Only pics I am getting now are in the middle of the night.
