I have to say that I was one that always sat on the edge of my seat when Hambone came up to bat. What he did in the first 3rd of the season was incredible. But the money that he will be asking for just for his time as a Ranger is not worth having to put up with a guy that has showed a lack of effort, injury proned and has to have someone always watching over him to make sure he doesn't go back to his old ways. He is a great person and one of the most gifted players to step onto the diamond. I wish him well wherever he ends up and whatever comes around in his life. But my biggest problem with him is just the lack of effort and leadership that he fails to present. No matter how tough things get, you can always go out there and show a since of urgency and effort. Dropping pop flys and letting balls go underneath your glove are just an example of lack of focus. Not all the blame should be put onto Hamilton because it is a team game and it took an entire team to blow the leads, but his talent level and showings of greatness is what makes us all question what exactly happened in the last part of the season. Hopefully the Rangers and Hamilton find that magic they have displayed the past 2 years and a 1/3 of this season.

Also if anyone on the Rangers team deserves to be the MVP it would have been Beltre because if anyone has competed every game he has played it has been him.

I think I can speak for everyone, that we are all just frustrated with how the regular season ended and just hoping that our superstar would show more effort in every game.

I am behind him too just that I am disappointed in the effort I saw at the end of the year. Superstars get the glory and the blame and usually get too much praise and too much blame. Everything can be changed with a showing of heart and dedication in the wild card game. GO RANGERS!!!

I doubt he is too worried about the mighty green screen baseball managers and all their keyboard wisdom

He feels bad about it no doubt.

He also feels guilty about not getting bowhunting fever off his mind. He realized after this game that he needs to put that on hold like many of us that are working our butts off and have yet to hunt.

the whole team just has never seemed to have a sense of urgency. i think they are just mentally out of it from so many games the last 2 years. all of the series they have played the last couple years have been at least 6 games except the giants one. they have had to play extended series against tampa also.

How can anyone blame this collapse on one guy? If you want to blame anyone person then blame the guy who makes the line up out! Tell me why are two catchers starting and neither of them can hit there way out of a wet paper sack! Our leadoff hitter is horrible, he would be a six hole hitter at best for me if I was making the lineup! Cruz has sucked it up, rally killing Young has lived up to my given nickname for his lack of production, and i could go on all night about the lineup card every night! Just remember guys, after tonite their will only be 4 AL teams left and our Rangers will be one of them!
                  Thank you and good night,
                  John Abel

too bad some of you guys don't own the team. everything would be PERFECT. blaming it on one player is ridiculous. Pitching, pitching, pitching and a lot of other factors. NOT just Josh Hamilton.

its not hamiltons fault to think that is just plain dumb....the rangers as a TEAM have struggled all season with consistancy... we can pitch when we cant hit and hit when we cant pitch.... no reason the rangers shouldn't have won 100+ games this year... now back to hamilton, errors are going to happen and we as a TEAM have had alot! the whole TEAM has been in ths mental slump majority of the year.... better figure it out quick otherwise they'll be joining us for hunting season alittle early this year.... and please pay himilton he's worth it

Does anyone think that Ron Washington and his lackadaisical attitude is contagious???

All the poor at bats and errors are from nothing else other than not being mentally into the game.... Blame the entire coaching staff for allowing that to happen.

I am one of the biggest Rangers fans in the country, but also a realist. Can't blame one guy. It's a team effort..
