I have to say that I was one that always sat on the edge of my seat when Hambone came up to bat. What he did in the first 3rd of the season was incredible. But the money that he will be asking for just for his time as a Ranger is not worth having to put up with a guy that has showed a lack of effort, injury proned and has to have someone always watching over him to make sure he doesn't go back to his old ways. He is a great person and one of the most gifted players to step onto the diamond. I wish him well wherever he ends up and whatever comes around in his life. But my biggest problem with him is just the lack of effort and leadership that he fails to present. No matter how tough things get, you can always go out there and show a since of urgency and effort. Dropping pop flys and letting balls go underneath your glove are just an example of lack of focus. Not all the blame should be put onto Hamilton because it is a team game and it took an entire team to blow the leads, but his talent level and showings of greatness is what makes us all question what exactly happened in the last part of the season. Hopefully the Rangers and Hamilton find that magic they have displayed the past 2 years and a 1/3 of this season.
Also if anyone on the Rangers team deserves to be the MVP it would have been Beltre because if anyone has competed every game he has played it has been him.
I think I can speak for everyone, that we are all just frustrated with how the regular season ended and just hoping that our superstar would show more effort in every game.
