Does any one else hunt with a really old bow?

I shoot a 2007 or 2008 Bowtech Guardian. It is a great bow and I am comfortable with it. I cannot afford a new bow every few years. I will shoot this bow for years to come probably.

My dad hunts with an old pse. Prolly a late 80s early 90s bow.

I have a guy I work with that shoots an 80's era Darton SL50M compound.

I shoot a 2003 Martin Tracer. Not saying I wouldn't enjoy a new bow, but this one kills the critters plenty dead. I enjoy seeing the technology improvements over the years, but haven't been motivated to sink the cash into a new bow when this one is still doing its job.

Oh, and I still shoot aluminum arrows - XX78/2413s.

I shoot a Golden Eagle Splitfire 36. Have had it since 1999. Still shoots awesome. Have tried some of the newer bows. this one just fits me better. Course I am still getting a new one. A while back I had a guy at the Bass pro shops archery range tell me that he used to shoot a cheap bow too until he got his matthews. He proceeded to stick his first arrow into the back stop. I put mine right thru the head of the turkey target. He didn't say a word after that.

A guy I worked with, then got on our lease shoots one from 1980. Was shooting aluminum arrows till this year. Last year he shot a 9 point with it while sitting on a 2x4 platform 8' in the air sitting on a 5 gallon bucket! The buck jumped, the arrow hit him in the back leg, cut the main artery. Blood EVERY WHERE for 25 yards. We laugh about it all the time.

When I hunt/ shoot traditional, my Red Wing Hunter was made somewhere around 1975.

I think its funny how people consider things old, such as my girlfriend who is in love with a new dress for a week and by the third week of owning it, it is considered old and outdated. lol. Well don't feel bad about your bow, I am hunting with an old Browning wood framed bow that my dad passed down to me and I know that he purchased it sometime after he graduated college and that was around the 80's. you know it is old when you compare it to most peoples now days that are made out of practically air and weigh nothing. But just like several of you have said, my animals, or fish, turn out just as dead as mine.

I use a Martin Lynx from the mid 80s I love it it shoots fast!

I got this bow when I graduated high school and I'm SO confident with it. It's very tough to justify getting something else. Many animals have fallen to it

I've hunted with a Mathews Feathermax for about 11 years, until this year. I still have it though just in case.

My current bow is a 2009, and I don't see me buying a new one for a long time.

Up until I got this one, I was shooting a 1987 Jennings Super T-Star. I handed it off to my buddy to get him into shooting, and he doesn't want to upgrade, he still loves shooting it. It has wood limbs and a magnesium riser, and wheels instead of cams. The cables are real cables, and it is only 20% letoff. It's very quiet though, and has put a lot of meat in the freezer.
