    Scentlok.. Does it REALLY work???

I always try and get the perfect wind direction no matter what and I so shower before every hunt keep my scentlok in a scent bag until I get there and out of my truck and all that.. But just wondering does scentlok really work if your upwind haven't showered and all that?? Anyone have any good or bad experience with it???

It works on your wallet. Thats about it

Seriously tho. My rat terrier could pic me off in it when he would go down wind of me. And they aint known for their noses. My weimeraner could nail me at will in it. Total gimmick.

I think it all is bs....the spray, cloths everything.... I shot lots of deer in WI as a kid wearing cheap camo and good stand location.... I think/know its all the wind...last night i set in a stand that has deer every day and night...in the morning i had good wind and i had deer...at night the wind turned from my back and i had no deer.... Pretty simple!BTW i was wearing scent lok....and keep my cloths in a bag too... We come in contact with so many things in our trucks and such its hard to stay scent free...

It helps some but is a marketing bliss. In a lab these fabrics & carbon products produce results & do show some odor reduction on an assay testing machine, but human odor will always escape & give you away.
Some odors are certainly stronger than others, but the wind will always help or hurt you.

Yeah I was thinking it helps but doesn't work.. I guess if it gives me a little more advantage I'll use it.. I mean I know it's a lot of money but if it helps me me just a little more then that's a little better chance of gettin that big one I think..

Alls I know is I saw a hunting show where Waddell was hunting the Scentlock property in a scentlock suit and said "dangit, I just got winded"........so I am thinking it may help but doesn't work all that well.

Like everything else we use it is just another part of a system to strive to be scent free. If you store it properly, care for it properly and wear it properly, it does work. As for the "forget the wind, just hunt" marketing campaign by Scentblocker, well that's just BS.

I do find it humorous how folks believe their "scent eliminating" spray, soap, etc absolutely works but scent control clothing doesn't. Talk about an advertising gimmick, you should really look into that market.

Get coated in the smoke from a good campfire.....best best "scent" product going IMO!

Put it on and fart. Bet it stinks. All the proof you need.

                      My experience is...

It helps to smell like the place (fuel/tractors, hay, cows, etc....), be a part of the place and step in a cow poo every chance you get.

I drank the scentlok crap 15 years or so ago... it helps but it is not 100%.

I'll put my two cents in. I was very skeptical of the scent lock clothes myself, but about five years ago I was hunting on a bowhunting day lease with my cousins and some close friends. While we were sitting around shooting the breeze one night one of my cousins started talking about how many more deer he started seeing since wearing scent lock. So the next year, I bought a set. I only hunt public land and have for twenty years, and I can honestly say since buying and wearing scent lock I have seen way more deer than without it. So the next year my brother, whom I have hunted with for twenty years bought him a set as well. Same thing he started see alot more deer as well. I guess to each there own, I just know we both feel it works better for us than not wearing it. Just my two cents. Thanks.

No do not waste your money.
It's already been said but smoke is the best way to cover your scent.
The more smokey you and your clothes and gear are the better.

I don't use the expensive scent lok clothing. I do wash my clothes in scent killer or atsko and put them in a cheap rubber tub from Wal-Mart. Yesterday I was hunting out of a 10' stand (I know, I know, but, 10' is as high as I could go because of the tree limbs. I had a buck coming in from a field. He was coming to my hand corn. He spooked and ran off before he came completely in. What is the best way to be scent free so if you are low to the ground they will still come in?

Alot to be said about 'smoking' as a scent killer. Especially if you use different kinds of wood in the same fire from same place. Cedar elm, oak, ash, mesquite, hackberry, cedar, pine, osage (bowdarc, hee hee) etc.....
