my left would swell up from sitting and doing nothing, so the nurse told me to move around AFTER telling me to sit down for a while. ice at work, ice at home, ice to and fro. i gave up on pease and did the gel pack things. MUCH better. i had to get tighty whiteys to keep the boys in shape and can't wear boxers now.

You guys are all wimps. This was the best surgery I've ever had. You don't need to be knocked out... That is ridiculous. Also having any fear of complications is overblown. Go to a good Urologist who does this surgery commonly.

Be a real man.... For a woman to get her tubes tied or to get a hysterectomy is a far more complicated surgery, with a higher chance of complications, and a much longer recovery time. Do it for your wife's sake!

I really wish I hadnt opened this thread. Me and my wife are patiently waiting the birth of our second son, like he should be here any hour now. But I have agreed with her that after our son is born and healthy that I will have this procedure done. After reading your experience I am cringing and now alot more nervous about going through with this.

I was the guy that says its no big deal. I literally loaded a cord of wood the next afternoon. No anesthesia, just a local. I texted people the whole time I was getting snipped. It was really no problem for me. I either hear horror stories or it's not bad at all stories. In my case I would do it again tomorrow if I had to keep my wife from doing it. I figured she gave birth to 2 boys I could at least get my nuts cut on.

If I had known you could get konked out...I would have asked for the whole weeks worth. Pain pills and Makers Mark helped a tad but it was still a long week. Glad to see I am not alone in my wimpness!!

I got the ole fashion titanium staples and would not have done well with the smell of branding cattle in the room!!

                            Yikes...

Sounds a few docs that weren't very good pencil sharpeners in school...
