I hear the 6.5 Creedmoor is a effective and flat shooting round. Also, very popular for use in the "Dark Continent" for plains game, including the Kudu.

Best non magnum caliber out to 200 yards? 30.06 hands down... That's its niche.

Biggest non magnum caliber.

Best velocities and energy at 200 yards.

165 grain.

The others may have more range... Flatter shooting at longer ranges... But at 200 yards the 30.06 is the best non magnum caliber.

I agree completely and 165 grain is my preferred bullet in my 06. Not saying that the others mentioned won't do the job but the old 06 has a lot of great history.

Thanks for all the feed back. The reason I'm asking is because my 300 just kicks to hard .my 30-378 cost like 160 dollars for a box of bullets . I just want another one..

I love my 257 wby mag... But the question is which is the best non magnum caliber... A 50 bmg and a 338 lapua are some great flat shooting rifles too.... BUT we are discussing non magnums.
