I've been kicking around going to 80# with a heavier arrow. I shoot 73# now with a 465gr arrow. I'm just always looking for a little more penetration.
But you ask which bow for more penetration, that would depend on what you are hunting. If it was deer I would be comfortable with 60# and wouldn't consider anything else. The only reason I'm looking for more is for the bigger stuff.

In my opinion I wouldn't pull that either, I shoot 60# and a 448 grain piledriver with rage and got a complete pass through on the zebra in my avatar and every other critter I've ever attempted to shoot. I got a buddy who used some Of my piledrivers with his 56 pound bow and killed a red stag at 57 yards with a rage..... So I don't think all that's necessary even for big animals

Find a bow you really like set at a weight that you can comfortably drawing "sitting in a chair" without too much trouble and get an arrow that is going to weigh at least a minimum of 8 to 10 grains per inch of arrow length and you will be set. Broadhead and shot placement will determine most of the penetration anyway along with the size of the critter. You are looking in the wrong avenues for a new bow. Just buying for what you consider penetration might put you in a bow you do not like and may not shoot very well and that is not going to help you one bit.

I have a 80# Mathews Monster 6 and shoot a 734gr FMJ 250 DG out of it. I'm getting about 272ftps and 121 ft lbs of KE so penetration is definatly not a issue. I also have a 70# Z7 Magnum and shoot a 547gr FMJ 300. I haven't put this one on the chrono but have had no issues getting pass throughs.

Get a 60-70# Hoyt Vector. My vector is at 65 pounds and I'm not worried one bit about penetration. Plus, I dont know about your physical condition, but I know that I am in pretty good shape and I can easily hurt some back muscles and rotator cuff if I was still pulling 70+ pounds. Not worth it!!!
