      100% craiglist scam.

I NEVER put a phone # on a craigslist post, always use the anonymous email feature and then if I want to reply, I do and reveal who I am.

Cash, face-to-face, preferably not at your home. If at your home, item in in the driveway, garage door is closed and the closest public bathroom is at the local MacDonalds of Starbucks.

as long as you dont give him your password, or bank account info, its no worse than someone buying your email for spam. thats about what youre going to get now anyway

Can't call you because of their line of work as a scumbag thief. Get their email address and sign it up for a bunch of crap.

Several years ago we parted-out my son's 78 Dodge Powerwagon and I sold it off craigslist. I had one contact me and wanted me to mail the 360 engine block to Canada, and of course he'd send me a money order and I could keep the difference.

as long as you didnt give him anything other than your email, youre okay. take a deep breath and relax. if you gave him any kind of personal account info for checking/CC, or passwords to anytyhing, then yes, you need to start locking your credit profiles down.

if he DOES transfer via paypal, notify the FBI for wire fraud.

That particular scam has been around for a long time and has received enough publicity that I'm suprised that anyone would even consider falling for it. Just sayin--

I got one of those when I was selling a car. I suspected a scam and wanted to see what they would do. I deposited the check but did not do anything with the car. The check bounced! Luckily I was smart to recognize that if it seems too easy, it is probably a scam and I did not lose anything. Never heard from them again. I traded the car in for another truck.
