My grandfather. Who served in 2 wars. Said
"I might not agree with what your saying...but will defend your right to say It to my death"

Originally posted by dragonsdaddy View Posti was wondering if anyone else knew what an upside down flag signified. the op obviously didn't doesn't. i was hoping his reason for stopping was to offer assistance not threaten an elderly man. to each his own, i guess.

Look up what an upside down flag means and tell me if you think he did it on purpose. I think the flag should be flown upside down today because our country is in imminent danger.

Do you honestly believe that the man would of issued a beat down. Why does there have to be so many internet police. I don't understand. I know and understand the freedom of speech thing. And yes I understand that it goes both ways. You have to take the bad with the good. But don't beat the man down for poor word choice. Thats his right, if we are taking all acounts of Freedom of Speech into consideration.

Beating down someone at the door to their house, better rethink that one. Im sure in your own mind your a bmf, but you aint bullet proof. Pretty much agree with previous posters, while it may be irritating and make you pretty mad at times the freedom of speech is a must. Either way, glad arnie got corrected. Id be lying if I said ive never stopped and had to let someone know their flag was flying upside down. It usually involved children or morons with good intentions.

His flag is up every day and kinda faded (nope he don't take it down at sunset) and I really doubt anyone will tell him to follow perfect flag protocol as "everyone" knows he served his country for a dang long time honorably.
