I'm tempted to remove all post count stats. The reality is that there are several that post WAY too much. Royalty should be a function of quality over quantity.
Fine by me ....take me back down to spike. As long as I can look in the classifieds and send PMs I'm good. I never look at the counts anyway. I only get reminded of my counts when posts like this appear or Breezy brings it to our attention.
On another note, not speaking to your quote specifically Michael like above, I do find it hilarious that folks actually think that all members that have been on this site for awhile actually monitor their stats daily and treat it as a badge of honor. Personally I only see that by spikes, 4 points and the folks trying to reach the next "level". The truth is most folks I talk to don't really care about it nor have any idea what their counts are after Pope and Young...especially knowing that there have been several crashes wiping out previous members post counts that would surpass any of the numbers here now.
I also find it hilarious that LONG time members talking today about post kings per day when it is rumored when they first were on the scene, they were the post king per day. The trend continues...
Am I the only one who pays absolutely no attention to anyone's "post count", including my own?
I've never understood the perceived status behind having a bunch of posts....
Agreed....posts counts are kept up by nubbin bucks, spikes, four points and the occasional long time member trying to push their former title on somebody else...
what do you do to be able to post 285 times a day for the last 5+ years??????
man i thought i was an 'over poster' from work sometimes with a whopping 3.37.

So, you're saying I shouldn't brag when I hit the P&Y mark?

Excerpt from "..in the beginning - Michael"
It was several months later (I want to say six, but it could have just as easily have been three or twelve) before I finally could afford to get my very own dial-up internet connection for $10/month (EV1.net). Once I was connected, I quickly searched, and found, the Bowsite. It had changed, and there were now state-specific forums that allowed regional discussions. Very cool. I lurked for awhile, and then decided I was ready to join in on some discussions. I had to register with a username, or handle, and without giving much thought, glanced at a P&Y scoresheet that was in front of me at the time (I dreamed big!) and chose the first thing that jumped out at me as my username, G2.
I jumped right in, absorbed every piece of information I could glean, and began offering my own opinion on nearly every thread, even some of the controversial ones..

It's fairly typical that some people feel the need to offer an opinion on every thread when they first join the site. You did it, Rob did it, Leggett did it...heck, I did it back when I first joined the Bowsite before I created this one.
Lately it seems that there are more members that feel the need not only to offer an opinion to every topic, but feel like they have to offer a reply to every subsequent post on that topic.
You're probably right that it has little to do with post count status. It's probably more of a function of liking to argue (and liking to see themselves talk.)
Now that I am trying to make a site/forum I REALLY need to become a supporting member of TBH. I now know how much work it takes to get something small up and running. I couldn't imagine 30,000 members
