They are a publicly owned company with 69 stores nationwide, and based out of Midvale, Utah. No financial ties to Bass Pro. According to the manager of the Lewisville store.

Kevin which store closes at 7pm? I know I shouldn't care but I use to work for them and I like the store. Actually what is hurting the stores here in texas is Bass Pro and Cabelas.

they are not owned by Bass Pro. Not unless they were purchased by them in the last year. They are privately held and Cabelas had offered to by them in the past. The owner said no thanks...

Bass Pro's website also listed job openings for them out of the goodness of their heart then.

                    From Wikipedia:

While Bass Pro operates some stores with "Sportsman's Warehouse" as part of the name, it should be noted that the company is not affiliated with the retailer simply known as Sportsman's Warehouse.

I think that Bass Pro is hurting the two store in SA, and there is a ****'s being built next door to Bass Pro right now.

I was at the lewsiville store last night and talked to a few buddies that work there. The lewisville store is no more after Jan. 31 (or sooner). According to one guy in the store the north Austin store will be around for another year... he mentioned that the shopping center owner paid SW to stay.

There are some deals, but it hit or miss. They have been taking out the high priced guns and optics and shipping them to somewhere else in the US.

I hate to see SW leave the area.
